Henry Chalfant was born in 1940 in Pennsylvania, USA. He is a well known and respected photographer and videographer of urban culture. Chalfant has also made several films about graffiti and break dance, most famous being "Style Wars" from 1984. In 1984 Henry Chalfant and Martha Cooper wrote the definitive book on New York graffiti called "Subway Art". Henry Chalfants works are held in the collections of institutions such as Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC) and Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During the last three decades Henry Chalfant has had numerous exhibitions throughout USA.
